The bit about AI

There’s an elephant in the room, and we need to talk about it for a minute. If lots of us are using AI to write code, does it matter what framework we use? Is there any point in learning one?

Yes.

You are responsible for the output of the tools you use. You cannot fulfil that responsibility if you don’t understand what it’s doing.

For that reason we won’t be using any AI in this course today — if you use AI autocomplete, I recommend turning it off for the duration of the course.

This is not because we’re anti-AI. In fact, AI is really good at writing Svelte, and that’s not an accident. We will learn how you can set up your coding agent to get the most out of Svelte in a later exercise, but for now this is a human-only zone.
