Why choose Svelte, specifically?

Our goal is to help you build the best possible app in the least possible time. We care a lot about how it feels to write Svelte code, though we adhere to the W3C’s Priority of Constituencies — user needs come above all others.

We have a slightly different design philosophy to a lot of frameworks, in ways that you’ll learn about today. We are unapologetic fans of the web platform, and we think building on it should be fun.

Svelte was forged in the fires of a newsroom: it was designed to handle the challenges of building interactive visualisations at the speed of breaking news. Along the way, it turned out we were solving problems other people had too.

The developer surveys suggest we’re doing a good job. But framework choice is a matter of taste: if it’s not for you, that’s fine.
